My “house” of beliefs: The foundation: Jesus. The flooring, Grace; The frame, Life. Next, the exterior wall of my “house” is liberty.

Do you want to know how you can have liberty, be really, truly free? It really is simple - love God, love those around you, and love yourself. I can’t claim that as an original; Jesus said it. (Matt 22:36-40) Jesus also said, “If the Son makes you free, you shall be free for sure”. (John 8:36)

Liberty is looked at in two very different ways. One way is that liberty comes from God; the other way, is that we can have liberty, be free, by doing whatever we want.

The first view, that liberty comes from God is a view held by Conservatives; the second view is held by Liberals.

The battle going on in this country is not between Democrats and Republicans any more, but between Liberals and Conservatives. Most Democrats in Congress are Liberals, but some Republicans in Congress are Liberals, too.

I can no longer say proudly that I am a Republican. Too many Republicans have abandoned the proven policies of Ronald Reagan, and want to “get along” (like John McCain, a hero, and a fine man, but not one who is grounded in strong Conservative principles).

Liberal beliefs have been growing for forty years, because it’s easy to be a Liberal. You can believe and do anything you want:

- You can have “freedom of expression” to say and do anything dirty or nasty.
- You can kill unborn babies.
- You can want, and get, bigger government, charge higher taxes.
- You can believe the Gay lifestyle is natural; believe it’s OK for Gays to marry.
- You can believe that terrorists have Constitutional rights (that’s one I have a very hard time understanding).
- You can believe this is a secular (Godless) country, where God has no right to interfere with what we want to do.
- You can believe Muslim fanatics hate Jews and Americans because of something WE did, ignoring 1,300 years of boiling hatred of Jews, 1,100 years before there even was a United States!

Liberals are, and have been, doing their thing for a long time, and it’s getting worse because they now control the Congress, AND they are led by the most Liberal president of all time. Why do they do those things? WOB D WOD (What One Believes, Determines, What One Does). In other words their belief system is all messed up.

I believe the Liberals’ form of liberty is a twisting around of the real thing.

For example, thirty years ago Liberals had a slogan, “God is dead!” They haven’t changed. Last week the headline of “Views From the Left” was “The End of Christian America”. Maybe the author doesn’t know any better, but he ran out the same tired old stuff, namely, that some of the men who wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were Deists (day ists). [Dictionary: Deism, the belief that God exists entirely apart from our world, and does not influence the lives of human beings.]

I believe that kind makes it easier to do anything you want, like boozing and taking drugs. Thinking like that, you can enjoy sinning without worrying about consequences.

By the way, 52 of the 55 signers of the Declaration of Independence were committed Christians who later made Bible teaching so important that they required it in public schools.

Liberals have strengthened their belief system by starting the concept of “Separation of Church and State”, something a Supreme Court found in the Constitution. Duh, it’s not IN the constitution. That way, just in case God gets near, Separation of Church and State tells God, “Get out of here, we don’t need you or want you”!

That concept came into being close to the time a Supreme Court found another thing in the Constitution that isn’t in it, a Right of Privacy, which has been used to legalize the slaughter of over 50,000,000 unborn American children.

Oh, Lordy, yes, Liberals are free! They have great liberty!

But it’s a lot different than the liberty Jesus talked about. You need to understand how important true liberty is to all of us.
