KIDS: "IT'S OK TO EAT MEAT!" This column exposes animal rights activism, and environmental activism.
I believe animal rights activism and environmental activism ARE works of darkness. I believe what is advocated is in direct opposition to God’s way of doing things. The advocates think their cause is righteous, but I think they are indulging in self-righteousness. God calls self-righteousness “filthy rags”. (Isaiah 64:6)
I have no respect for P.E.T.A. (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). They’ve done some very mean, illegal things, and their thought processes are out of whack. I’ll prove that to you in a little while with a history lesson.
P.E.T.A. believes it is wrong to kill animals. One of their leaders added, “for any reason, at any time”. (That means you have to let that mosquito bite you, dude!)
Most normal Americans, and I consider myself normal, don’t support cruelty to or mistreatment of animals. But killing animals for man’s benefit, like food, is not an act of cruelty.
The history lesson: Jews were slaves for 400 years in Egypt, and God set them free by having animals killed. That’s the story of the Passover (Exodus, Chapters 12 & 13). A spotless lamb was killed by the head of the house, eaten, and its blood put on the doorposts of each house. The blood of the lamb saved the Jews from the Death Angel. The D.A. saw the blood, and “passed over” the Jews’ homes, but killed the firstborn of the Egyptians.
For centuries many thousands of animals have been killed and eaten, and their blood offered as a sacrifice for sin. That may sound ugly and gruesome to you and me, but it was God’s idea, His plan. It was necessary to have something ugly and gruesome to forgive sins. Why? Sin is ugly and gruesome to God.
But God is merciful; He gave the Jews a way to have their sins forgiven, for ONE YEAR, by the shed blood of animals.
The ultimate ugliness and gruesomeness happened to Jesus, when He suffered terrible torture and a horrible death for our sins by shedding His (innocent) blood, just like the innocent lambs. But the blood of the Lamb of God washed away ALL our sin, forever!
During all those sacrifices over all the centuries, the slain animals were eaten; in fact eating the animal was necessary to obey the Law. Jesus ate meat the night before He died, obeying the Law. The Last Supper was the Seder (Passover) meal, and lamb was the main course. That means you and I have the right to enjoy eating meat.
The important thing to remember is that all animal sacrifices were “types” of Jesus dying, shedding His blood. He did it willingly, for US, not for animals or the environment.
Do you think God cares about what we do in the U.S.? Many act like they don’t believe in God, or else don’t care what He thinks. They need to understand that the world, including animals, the environment and everything else were created for the benefit of man, not the other way around.
Do you believe the scare about climate change? I don’t. We have to be supremely arrogant to think we can make the world warmer or cooler.
Lord Christopher Monkton, noted British scientist, disputes the claims of “climate change” advocates, and has challenged Al Gore to a debate about that, often, but Al won’t debate. Monkton claims that the climate change treaty Obama plans to sign in Amsterdam in December is a fraud. How about it, Al?
I heard a woman on talk radio ask, “Where would we be without the environment?” What she and others don’t understand is that without us, there’s no need for an environment!
Who’s more important, animals and the environment, or us?
God’s opinion is that WE are far more important. He sent His Son to redeem US, not the animals or the environment.
By voicing my opinion that man’s plans contradict God’s plans, do you think I’ll receive some condemnation? If I do, don’t be surprised. Persecuting Conservatives, especially Christian Conservatives, is quite the “thing” these days. Liberals believe in free speech - yeh, sure, unless you disagree with them.
