THE SILENT SCREAM

The information contained in this column is graphic and may not be suitable for young readers or squeamish adults.

Young people today seem to be fascinated by horror stories and tales of darkness, particularly involving vampires. They are unaware, it seems, of horror happening around them every day, horror that has gone on continually for 35 years. The horror is, believe it or not, legal, and has millions of supporters, some active, many more, passive. The horror has been captured on a sonogram, entitled “The Silent Scream”.

In 1984, Bernard Nathanson, M. D. ran a profitable abortion chamber in N.Y.C. (killing babies is very profitable). When he looked at a sonogram of a baby shrinking from the swirling knives about to tear it to pieces, and saw the infant open its mouth as if to protest, he named it “The Silent Scream”, and shut down his abortion mill. He is a strong pro-life advocate today.

Fast forward to 2009. Abby Johnson was with Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas; she also saw “The Silent Scream”, and is now a pro-life advocate. She spoke this past weekend at the “T.E.A. Party” Convention.

Before I read about Dr. Nathanson and Abby Johnson, I had intended the headline to be about the controversial commercial that was aired last Sunday during the Super Bowl.

Actually, there was to be a double headline:

PAM TEBOW, PRO-CHOICE (FOR LIFE)
N.O.W., PRO-CHOICE (FOR DEATH)

(N.O.W. stands for National Organization of [some, certainly not a majority of] Women).

When Pam Tebow was told that the delivery of her child would probably cause her death, she was advised to have an abortion, but she refused. The result was that she gave birth to a healthy boy who grew to become one of the best-known college athletes in the country, Tim Tebow, a recent graduate of the University of Florida, where he was a star quarterback and former winner of the Heisman Trophy.

Pam Tebow’s story is heart-warming, but her choice not to submit her unborn son to the abortionist’s tools of death has enraged the pro-choice (for death) community, just as Sarah Palin’s choice to give birth knowingly to a Downe Syndrome child has done.

The headline “The Silent Scream” was chosen instead of the double headline because it illustrates better than the Tebow commercial the uncaring insensitivity of the pro-choice (for death) movement.

N.O.W.’s objection to the commercial that was run by CBS doesn’t surprise me. Strange as it may seem, it actually pleases me, because it portrays the hypocrisy of the Pro-choice (for death) movement as nothing else that they have done.

Their fury at Pam Tebow for giving birth is testimony to their underlying belief that the (legal) murder of an unborn child is not only permissible, but desireable.

I am also not surprised that President Obama (the strongest abortion advocate ever to serve in nationally elected office) didn’t join in N.O.W.’s demand that CBS censor the commercial, because it would have exposed his pro-choice (for death) stance in too glaring a light.

I believe most Americans are Pro-life, a fact of which you might not be aware, because the Mainstream Media, from which most people still get their news, are also strongly Pro-choice (for death).

In the Gospel of John, Chapter 8, Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees, the religious leaders of His day, and He told them He always did those things that pleased His Father. What He did was feed, heal, give life, forgive sins, and raise peoples’ spirits.

There’s no record that He ever caused a single death, so I can’t imagine that it would have pleased His Father if Jesus had supported giving a mother the “right” to have her unborn baby killed.

Applause goes to Focus on the Family for spending over $2,000,000.00 to sponsor the commercial (I am sending $100.00 to Focus on the Family to help reimburse their expense). Applause goes to Pam and Tim Tebow for their courage and boldness in speaking out for their Pro-choice (for life) belief. And applause also goes to CBS for not succumbing to the powerful, funded-with-blood, Pro-choice (for death) forces.

What you have to the least of my brethren, you have done to Me. (Matt 25:40)
