FOR KIDS 15 AND YOUNGER - WOB D WOD What you do is not as important as what you believe; but what you believe is very important, because what you believe determines what you do. (What One Believes, Determines, What One Does - Wob d wod.)
Muslim terrorists do the terrible things they do because of what they believe.
We have people in this country called Liberals, who are picking apart the foundation on which this great nation was built, because they believe wrong things.
For example, Jeremiah Wright, President Obama’s pastor for 20 years, said on TV, “I don’t say God bless America, I say God Damn America.” He says that because his belief system is warped. (Believe me, kids, God won’t damn America just because some hate-filled preacher asks Him to!)
I’m talking to you about Godly things instead of talking about my Conservative principles (based on God’s Word, the Bible) concerning the terrible condition of our nation, because I believe the most important thing in your life is your relationship with God, Jesus. It will be the thing on which your life will rest. (I was 50 years old before I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior; don’t you wait that long!)
Sin is ugly to God. Under Old Testament Law, God showed how ugly. He permitted whippings (up to 39 lashes), and also authorized stoning to death for certain sins. He destroyed two cities, Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen 19:24-25) because all of the inhabitants were Gays and Lesbians, except for six people, whose lives were spared. God loves homosexuals, but hates their sexual activity. (“You shall not lie with man as with a woman, it is an abomination” Lev 18:22)
Was God just being mean and nasty? No; the Bible tells us “His mercy endures forever” (Psalm 136). Psalm 136 also tells about Creation (that God created you and me, contradicting Darwinism (that we all evolved from a swamp). When Jesus came, He showed mercy toward people, especially kids. He healed people, fed them, and raised (at least) two people from the dead. One was the only son of a widow (Luke 7:11-15); the other was a friend named Lazarus (John 11:33-44).
Jesus said He always did those things that pleased His Father (John 8:29). If He always did those things that pleased His Father, then why did our Father seem so mean in the Old Testament? God didn’t change; He’s the same “yesterday, today, and forever!” (Heb 13:8) Then why did God seem so mean in the Old Testament, and so nice in the New Testament?
God’s attitude toward sin hasn’t changed. Sin is ugly to Him. “The salary for sin is death” (Rom 6:23). The salary is still death!
BUT! The good news is that Jesus paid that salary for us, in full, at the Cross, so that believers don’t have to pay it!
When I work, I GET a salary. But when I sin, I PAY a salary. Not only do I not get something for committing sin, I have to pay with my life - forever! (That was before I knew Jesus as Savior and Lord. Now all of my sins are forgiven (Col 1:14)!
The men who fought for and built our nation knew the importance of the Bible as a “guide book”. Fifty two of the 55 signers of the Declaration of Independence were Bible believing Christians. You haven’t heard that in school. What those great men started is being picked apart by our leaders today. I don’t believe that those picking us apart know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Our country is paying the “wages of sin”, and if things don’t change, and it doesn’t look like they will; the future looks very bleak for the United States.
That is why I am writing to youngsters. YOU are the hope of our nation IF you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and help others to do the same, YOU can change our future, stopping our country’s slide into a government where God has no place. Life in countries where Jesus has no place are not fun for kids to live in. They are really bad places to live.
IT IS BETTER TO LIGHT ONE CANDLE THAN TO CURSE THE DARKNESS
